Fourty-three green-on-blue attacks have occurred in Afghanistan since 1 January 2012 resulting in the death of 73 government personnel. Of the 43 attacks, 19 have been attributed to members of the Afghan National Army (ANA), 20 have been attributed to the Afghan National Police (ANP) two have been attributed to the Afghan Local Police (ALP), one has been attributed to the Afghan National Directorate of Security (NDS) and one event involved use of U.S. Army uniforms. These violent attacks continue to pose one of the greatest threats against government personnel in Afghanistan.
