On Friday, January 20, 2012, members of the Islamic terrorist sect Boko Haram carried out a coordinated and deadly assault on eight government office locations throughout Kano, Nigeria, resulting in at least 185 casualties. While the exact number of deaths is not yet confirmed, this attack at least rivals its November 4, 2011, attack in which over 150 people were killed. More importantly, this is the second highly-coordinated mass terror attack carried out by Boko Haram in the last three months.
